Gina Dehmer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Rutgers University and is the owner/operator of Environmental Health Consultants, a small environmental consulting practice in central New Jersey since 2016. Early in Gina’s nursing career, she witnessed firsthand the detrimental effect of dangerous mold toxins on the health of her patients in their homes. While working as an IV infusion nurse, she had a patient with an autoimmune condition known as Myasthenia Gravis, and it was uncovered over two years that her patient's disease developed from the presence of mold in her home & body (see published study).
This experience prompted Gina to become a NY licensed mold inspector with over a decade of experience working with patients all over the country with mold-related illnesses. She has seen how homes and businesses can harbor toxic mold and how the occupants of these dwellings develop unexplained health symptoms that often go undiagnosed until an Indoor Air Quality Inspection is performed. Gina’s philosophy is, “We go to the doctor yearly; we should have our home checked yearly as well.” She maintains her NY & NJ Nursing license and continues her mission of healing one home, one human, and one animal at a time.
Environmental Health Consultants has evolved to Nurse Gina & Co, a team of licensed environmental health consultants and professionals specializing in mold, mycotoxins, human & animal health.
While working as an IVIG infusion registered nurse in 2014, Nurse Gina helped her patient determine that her autoimmune disease developed due to hidden mold in her home. Working alongside an infectious disease doctor, Nurse Gina's first abstract focusing on Myasthenia Gravis and mold was presented on October 6-8, 2017, at a Medical Mycology conference. It was published in the “Medical Mycology Journal” in Fall 2017. Here is a link to the publication:
